Te Reo MĀori me ona Tikanga MĀori

We endeavor to uphold the integrity and mana of Tangata Whenua through consultation with our community and professional development in order to deliver programmes that embrace Te Reo MĀori me ona Tikanga MĀori.  We aim to provide programmes that honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the biculturalism of Aotearoa.  Through the use of Te Aho Arataki Marau mŌ te Ako i Te Reo MĀori - Kura Auraki, our own progressions, and the expertise of our teaching and learning community. the planning and delivery of Te Reo MĀori me ona Tikanga MĀori learning is imbedded into our practice.  Our MĀori students have opportunities to practice and achieve success as MĀori and engage in MĀori concepts that benefit us all.

We deliver Te Reo MĀori me ona Tikanga MĀori lessons throughout the school on “Mana Mondays”. Karakia and command language are utilized throughout our daily practice in all areas of our teaching and learning. We also have a Kapa Haka for all students to be able to participate in, and share with our community with pride.

Matariki and MĀori Language weeks are also of particular importance to our community where we take pride in sharing our collective knowledge.
